May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.
— Rainer Maria Rilke

Musically, Elena has gone through singer-songwriter stage which is what the first EP has been dedicated to, and is currently focusing on instrumental music cinematically combining piano and layers of strings

Music Elena composes is a perfect neo-classical companion for a yoga- and meditation practice. A blend of serene piano cascades and emotive layers of strings will carry you to a meditative place where calm prevails and where you can leave your day behind and be transported into a non-verbal realm of sounds.

It’s the beginning of Autumn in Iceland. Empty church by the lake. A piano in the middle of the hall and me, trying to channel the rain and storm, the darkness and the magic of this day, into music.

The fingers are sliding along the black and white keys, exploring the strangeness of how wood and hammers can animate the alchemy of sounds. Hours later, a melody is beginning to form. I let this song be born out of the storm, out of the fact that I can be here in this massive room all by myself, in complete, absolute, beautiful solitude.

In some way, I want this music to become a little thread that connects me with this room, through space and time, through the years and through the distance that separates me from all of you. I want this to be a reminder of what it’s like to be at this point in my life when magic is being woven into music right in front of me.

So, let us meet in this imaginary space that gave life to Patterns of Light. Join me there, in that church for a ghost concert when you’re ready and let the sounds transport you there with me.

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
